What is Family Weekend? Family Weekend is a program designed especially for parents and families of TCU students to give family members a sense of what the TCU experience is all about. The goal is to provide an enjoyable and informative experience where you will discover the rich opportunities for intellectual, social, and personal growth available to your student.

When is Family Weekend 2009? Friday, October 2, 2009 through Sunday, October 4, 2009


Does it cost money to attend Family Weekend? The majority of Family Weekend events require the purchase of an All-Access Button for each family member. Buttons are $30 (early registration) or $35 (late registration). Purchase your button starting July 1 by clicking on the register link above.


What is an All-Access Button? The All-Access button replaces individual event tickets. This single button serves as your entry fee into the majority of the Family Weekend events. A button should be purchased for each family member in attendance. Buttons are non-transferable. For more information, please click on the pricing link above.

Do I have to purchase an All-Access Button to attend the Senior Ring Ceremony? No, button purchase is not requited to attend the Senior Ring Ceremony.

Does the All-Access Button include a Family Weekend t-shirt? Yes, each button purchase comes with one t-shirt. Shirt sizes should be specified at the time of your order, as shirt size changes are not possible at Family Weekend. Additional t-shirts are available for purchase by clicking on the register link above and choosing 0 (zero) for the number of buttons to purchase.

I would like to purchase items besides the All-Access button. How do I do that? Excursion tickets and additional t-shirts are available for purchase by clicking on the register link above. Just choose 0  (zero) for the number of buttons and fill out the rest of the form. TCU Stars tickets and tickets for Brunch with the Chancellor should be purchased at the door of the event. TCU Stars is unable to accept credit card payments.


I never received a Family Weekend brochure. Why? In keeping with TCU sustainability efforts, no Family Weekend brochure was produced. All information, including registration, can be found online at www.familyweekend.tcu.edu.


What is the final deadline to place my order for Family Weekend event tickets? Early registration will close at 11:59pm on September 1, 2009. Late registration will close at 11:59pm on September 15, 2009.

Is it appropriate to bring my student’s sibling(s) to Family Weekend? Absolutely! Family Weekend 2009 includes several special events for children ages 4-10. For more information on these events, please click on the schedule link above and choose the “Kid Friendly” schedule option.

Can I purchase a children’s ticket for the Family Weekend events? Children’s tickets are only available for off-campus excursions. No children’s price is available for the All-Access Button. Children tickets are the same price as adult tickets.

Will there be a vegetarian option for the Family Weekend events? Yes, there will be a vegetarian option at all Family Weekend events. Please help us better prepare to meet your needs by specifying your meal preferences on the registration form (register link above).

What is proper attire for Family Weekend? All Family Weekend events are casual.

Will there be handicapped access for Family Weekend events? Yes, all facilities for Family Weekend events will be handicapped accessible.

Should I buy tickets for my TCU student to attend Family Weekend events? We encourage you to attend events with your student. All button-required events require a separate button for each person attending, including your TCU student. Please be aware that your student can get into the football game to sit in the student section without the purchase of a ticket. However, if you wish to sit as a family, you will need to buy a ticket for your student.

Will our tickets be mailed to us? No. All Family Weekend purchases should be picked up during registration from 2:00-6:00pm on Friday, October 2 or from 8:00am-Noon on Saturday, October 3 in the Campus Commons.

I will arrive in Fort Worth late Friday evening. Can my student pick up our registration materials? Yes. Students can pick up Family Weekend materials at the registration site located from 2:00-6:00pm on Friday, October 2 or from 8:00am-Noon on Saturday, October 3 in the Campus Commons. Students will need to show their TCU ID card to pick up registration materials.

Can I purchase tickets during check-in for Family Weekend activities? Family Weekend items should be pre-purchased from July 1-September 15, 2009 by using the register link above. Only a limited number of All-Access Buttons, excursion tickets, and additional t-shirts will be available for purchase at Family Weekend.

What is the refund policy? All sales are final and non-refundable.

What time does the football game start? Time for the TCU vs. SMU football game is currently scheduled for 7:00pm on October 3, 2009. Before arriving on campus, we recommend that you check the TCU Athletics website at www.gofrogs.com to get the most updated information about game time.

How do I buy football tickets? Please go to www.gofrogs.com to place your order for tickets to the football game between TCU and SMU. If you need any additional information about the game or purchasing tickets, please call 817-257-7967.
